Gi Marie Arena – Inspired Mic Spotlight – February 2015

February brings some new faces to the  Inspired Mic at Leroy’s 19th Hole, the Country Club restaurant and bar for the Cypress Knoll Golf Course in Palm Coast. In the coming two weeks this site will display the presenters who will be on stage on February 17th. Now with two months under our belt at Leroy’s, we feel we have the recipe for an even better event this month! We are excited about our growth and the community’s interest in local talent. Please check back each day for a little insight into our Inspired Mic Event presenters!

“I am at my best when I’m writing, at peace
and immersed in self-fulfillment.”

Gi Marie and her husband moved to Palm Coast from New Jersey in 2002. In 2009, she started writing a personal narrative/memoir in which she combines the horrors of discovering that she has a rare, aggressive and recurring eye cancer with the beautiful memories of seven of her twenty-five, first-generation Italian aunts and uncles. Her story, A Sight Worth Feeling, was published as an e-book and in paperback in August, 2014 and is available at Amazon, B&N, and Apple Ibooks. Locally, you can pick up a copy of A Sight Worth Feeling at Change Jar Books in Flagler Beach.

Gi Marie is also featured in local author Tim Baker’s book, Path of the Bullet, which was published in December 2014. Her Story, Ike and Me, is part of a collection of short stories evolved from the minds and hearts of seven local authors, including Tim Baker of course. Ike and Me is set around Tim Baker’s elusive character Ike and Gi Marie’s bewitching character, Ruby. She takes the reader on a zany twenty-four-hour adventure laced with, for starters, an entanglement with four mafia/special op types, piracy, romance, comedy, disappointment, and let’s not forget twisted serendipity.
