Inspired Mic Spotlight – January 2015 – Tovah Janovsky
January is upon us and the Inspired Mic returns to Leroy’s 19th Hole, the Country Club restaurant and bar for the Cypress Knoll Golf Course in Palm Coast. In the coming two weeks this site will display the presenters who will be on stage on January 20th. One of the beauties of Leroy’s 19th Hole is we have a capacity of nearly 100. In December, more than 60 people showed up for the event! We are excited about our growth and the community’s interest in local talent. Please check back each day for a little insight into our Inspired Mic Event presenters!
New York City native Tovah Janovsky says she is a sojourner here on earth and decided to call her memoir by that title. Having grown up in the 50’s she shares nostalgic memories moving on to the turbulent sixties and the Cuban Missile Crisis, JFK’s assassination, and near tragic Apollo 13 mission. She was in San Francisco for a visit in 1967 during the “Summer of Love” and blogged about that experience, http://tovahsez.wordpress.com/2013/12/08/the-summer-of-love/
In the mid to late 60’s she worked at MGM Records and lived out those days of sex, drugs and rock and roll in a moderate way. She began a faith walk in earnest in 1981 drifting in and out of churches, messianic congregations ever since, learning all she could along the way. She returned to faith in Jesus after some side trips into Eastern meditation, spiritualism, etc. Because of her Jewish mom, she later began to express her faith within a Jewish perspective. Tovah is married for 44 years to husband John. They have 3 grown children, Serena, Jesse and Sara and 3 grandsons….Dakota (20), Jonah (3) and Tucker (2). She is hoping to publish Sojourner in 2015……stay tuned.
