The Inspired Mic December Spotlight – Bodil Haheim

The December Inspired Mic will see us at a new location, Leroy’s 19th Hole, the Country Club restaurant and bar for the Cypress Knoll Golf Course in Palm Coast. The following two weeks this site will display the presenters who will be on stage on December 16th. With the new location comes some new perks. We are excited about our growth and the community’s interest in local talent. Please check back each day for a little insight into our Inspired Mic Event presenters!

I panic-attacked two suitcases and a guitar in my little room in Norway, Oslo. Gave away the keys and got in a taxi headed for the airport. My keys I gave away to a homeless person and my plane ticket was given me by another homeless person. Little did I know that I was also to become a homeless person in Nashville. I came to Nashville in April 2013. I left years of trauma and drama, abuse and drug abuse behind, not knowing what was ahead of me in time. My crash-landing was all but pretty but somehow I managed to get through it. I stayed at the homeless shelter and went to the Church of Christ where i volunteered my time. Slowly i prayed away panic attacks, depression and PTSD. I regained my faith in God and worked on my spiritual being and my physical being. Being a child of abuse carries a lot of consequences but I am getting there. Last year i spent Christmas in Detroit, Knights Inn and that’s where I started to write my story;

“Better Believe- a Story of hope” by Ruby Lee Tuesday. Can be bought at www.trafford.com

I love philosophy and you can find some of my writings on www.ladyloverebel.com

This is my first book. I decided to put my story to the pen because i could leave it there in-between the pages and move on. For actually I am a singer and a songwriter and I just had my first gig here in Flagler. I have two more coming up early in December, GOLA December 7th and Sweet Water December 4th. And of course The Inspired Mic December 16th. I will read to you the back of my book and I will also perform one of my original songs “Warrior”.

I hope to see you there!
