September Inspired Mic Recap

Just a short follow-up on the September event. Rain did indeed chase us indoors, but we nonetheless pulled off another exemplary evening. We admittedly possessed a ton of help. The Beach House Beanery owners and staff certainly help any evening run well. Owner Carol Fisher read another wonderful “Spoonerism” story – “Beeping Sleauty” – a riot of twisted words and phrases.

Tim Baker’s Ike made a long-awaited visit along with Gi Arenas related story about Ike and a woman…

We also had two FPC students read which added a wonderful touch to the evening.

Before I get into a full-blown post (I did say I was going to keep this short, didn’t I…) I would be remiss not to mention Steve Boone of “The Lovin’ Spoonful” fame read an excellent excerpt from his book. The excerpt pertained to The Lovin’ Spoonful’s gig at Shea Stadium in New York along with the Beatles. Steve will be at a book signing at The Golden Lion on October 10th along with Tim Baker, Marybeth Jeitner and Heather Chalmers and John Sancin from 6pm to 8pm.

More on the September 16th event to come!
